Desnogorsk

Town in Smolensk Oblast, Russia, located on the right bank of the Desna River 153 kilometers (95 mi) southeast of Smolensk. Population: 29,677 (2010 Census).

Desnogorsk was founded as a settlement around the Smolensk nuclear power plant in 1974. It was granted town status in 1989.
